Terms and conditions of service

Industryhack Oy (“Industryhack” or “we”) brings together hackathon hosts and hackers for hackathon events and competitions (“Hack”) organized by the hosts.

You agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms” or “Agreement”) by applying to participate in a Hack or by using services provided by Industryhack on the website www.industryhack.com or related sites, such as application or registration pages which may be located on third-party sites (all such sites and services are referred to as the “Site”).

These terms constitute a binding legal agreement between you, i.e. the applicant or participant of a Hack or a user of the Site, and Industryhack Oy, a Finnish company (Business ID 2689566-6) with post address at Lapinlahdenkatu 16, 00180, Helsinki, Finland.

Should you have any questions regarding these Terms, you may contact us at info@industryhack.com.

These Terms may be modified by Industryhack from time to time, such modifications to be effective upon posting by Industryhack on the Site. We will provide the registered users of the Site with a one-month prior notice per email of substantial changes to the Terms or changes that have an adverse effect on the rights of the users hereunder.

Please note that the Hacks published at Industryhack.com are organized by the host company (“Host”) of such Hack, not by Industryhack. Industryhack acts as a facilitator and matchmaker between the Host organizing the Hack and the participants of the Hack.

Applying to a Hack and Registration

You may apply to a Hack by registering as a registered user of the Site and filling out an application form.

As part of the registration process to the Site, or when applying for participation in a Hack, you shall provide accurate and complete registration and other information to Industryhack as requested by Industryhack.

If you register or apply as a private person, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to accept and be bound by these Terms. If you register or apply as an entity or on behalf of a team, you confirm that such entity and each person in the team accepts these Terms and you have the right to represent such entity and team for the purposes of these Terms.

Industryhack or Host has the right at its sole discretion to determine the participants of each Hack among the applicants. Such decision by Industryhack or Host is final and cannot be appealed.

The Host provides the participants of the Hack with technical challenges and resources/materials to be worked with in the Hack.

The Host or Industryhack may choose a winner or winners among the work products (“Submission”) created and developed in the Hack by the participants. The selection of the winner(s) of the competition shall at all times be final and cannot be appealed. If you accept a prize for winning such competition, you are solely responsible for all applicable taxes related to accepting such prize.

Note that there is no obligation for Industryhack or a Host to continue working with you or use your Submission even if it has been selected as the winner of the Hack.

Note that Industryhack or Host has the right to disqualify you from the Hack at any time in its sole discretion for example due to inappropriate behavior at the Hack, breach of the rules of the Hack or these Terms, or due to the wish of the Host. Industryhack or the Host is not responsible for any damage or inconvenience caused by a cancellation or suspension of the Hack or your disqualification.
